Do I Qualify for the Forest Protocols?
The following must be met to qualify for the Forest Project Protocol:
- Forestland must be in California.
- The forest entity must own 100% of the trees within the project, and an ownership summary must be included in the project.
- The forest entity must be the body that reports the project to the Registry
- The Forest Project must follow one of the following activities:
- There must be a conservation easement on the land in the project to ensure the area will always be forested.
- The project must promote and maintain Native Forests and Natural Forest Management.
If ownership is shared one may choose to report by equity share or management control.
Independent or third parties may implement the project.
